Factor Theorem

A factor (x − c) means f(c) = 0. Use that equation to find the missing constant.

Jump to section:

If (x − c) is a factor, then f(c) = 0.

What to Remember

Factor theorem

If (x − c) is a factor of f(x), then f(c) = 0.

A factor such as (2x − 1) means c = 1/2.

Level 1
